Our Leaders

Jon has lived in San Rafael his whole life and grew up going to Open Door. Jon worked as a musician and counselor before becoming a pastor. His life's passion is to live in intimacy with Jesus and help others do the same. Jon met his wife Elena during a summer of volunteer work in Uganda. They have two delightful sons, Malcolm (3) and Julian (1).

Laura came to Open Door in 2010 and began volunteering immediately! Besides running Open Door Kids, Laura works as an occupational therapist with children - the more challenging the better! Laura has a passion to see children everywhere know Jesus and thrive and we are thrilled to have her at Open Door.

Dave has been at Open Door since the 1980s. He's played bluegrass around the campfires of West Virginia, rock and roll in the discotheques of India, and honky-tonk just about everywhere. But don't let the raucous background fool you. He is probably the sweetest and most mellow guy you'll ever meet. His worship brings an atmosphere of peace that is greatly appreciated in these turbulent times. He's also a school teacher, a father of two adult children, and a grandfather of three. 

Emma is a Marin County local who grew up attending Open Door. A school teacher by trade, Emma has a passion for serving others and the church. She and her husband, Graham, are a huge part of making Open Door feel like home every Sunday.
